Introduction
Hi, I’m Liza Merriment. I’m a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist. I am also certified as a Ketogenic Diet & Health Coach and a Health & Nutrition Life Coach. I am trading as Jervis Bay Naturopathy and my ABN is 40 326 465 579.
I am passionate about the benefits of a Ketogenic diet, Metabolic Autophagy, Fasting and teaching people how to take charge of their own health. I love helping my clients to reach their goals using a combination of science and herbal medicine.
I am currently employed as an independant consultant by Fasting For Health Australia to assist with their fasting retreats in Vincentia, NSW.

This document sets out the Terms and Conditions you need to be aware of when using my services. Please take a moment to read it carefully as it sets out your important rights and obligations and I care about making sure we both know where we stand. When you use my services you agree that you are over the age of 18 and willing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you don’t accept this agreement, you should notify me immediately so we can discuss your concerns. My services are offered in compliance with Australian Consumer Law.

My Services & Responsibilities
This disclaimer relates to Fasting Protocols & Health Coaching.
I tailor my advice specific to the client’s health history, body type, goals, likes and dislikes. I guide them through any problems and keep them motivated and accountable so they may reach their health goals.
I have:
● Advanced Diploma of Integrative Natural Health (Naturopathy)
● Certificate in Ketogenic Diet & Health Coaching
● Certificate in Health & Nutrition Life Coaching
● Certificate In Integrating Fasting Into Clinical Care
● Certificate in Functional Genetic Testing and Clinical Nutrigenomics
Initial Consultations
3 day fasts – I will perform a 15 minute consultation with you where I will discuss your intake form and discuss any health issues you have.
5 day fasts (and longer) – I will perform a 30 minute consultation with you where I will discuss
your intake form, take your readings on a BIA Scale, blood pressure and discuss any health
issues you have.
Who I will not treat
I will not support “dry fasting”
I recommend that Fasting is not suitable for the following:
● Pregnant and breastfeeding women
● Anyone under 18
● Anyone with history of eating disorder
● Underweight patients – >20 BMI
● Those suffering from heart problems or high blood pressure
● Those with severe adrenal issues
● Those with kidney disease
● Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics using insulin or medication to regulate blood sugar
Potential Issues
Major weight loss can lead to a temporary rise in LDL cholesterol. For this reason, it could make sense to wait until your weight has been stable for a few months before assessing your cholesterol levels.
Detox reactions – common symptoms when detoxifying are headaches, fatigue, body aches, nausea and brain fog. Rarer symptoms include skin rashes due to the toxins leaving your body.
Results
I have studied extensively to gain knowledge about fasting and its effects on various illnesses but I do not claim to cure any cause, condition or disease. Results from a fasting protocol will vary from person to person. No guarantee can be made as to weight loss numbers or health changes.
Post Retreat Care
I am available to provide further support to you after the retreat. You will need to book an appointment directly with me and I will bill you directly.
Your Responsibilities
It is your responsibility to complete your health history intake questionnaire as detailed as possible. I cannot be held responsible for the results incurred from information you have neglected to tell me. You must inform me immediately of any side effects or problems that arise during your fasting treatment, so that I may help you as quickly as possible.
If I prescribe something that doesn’t feel comfortable to you, please contact me to discuss it.
It is also your responsibility to seek independent advice from your doctor before using my service. I am providing information that is not a substitute for medical advice for your specific circumstances.
If at any time during your fast you feel unwell, please speak to the retreat organiser immediately.
Limitation of Liability
You agree to indemnify me (hold me blameless) for any injury or illness that you might suffer or any damage or loss that might occur while we are working together. If you have any doubts at all about any issue that might arise, you agree that you will conduct your own research and make your own fully informed decision about what is best for you.
In no event shall I or Jervis Bay Naturopathy be liable to you for costs, loss or damage of any kind arising out of or related to this Agreement or the services provided in relation to it. If this clause is unenforceable for any reason, my total cumulative liability for all causes of action of any kind shall not exceed the total amount I have been paid for my services.
Intellectual Property
The custom plan that I write for you and the information that I give you are protected by copyright. They are for your personal use only and may not be copied or shared in any way without my written consent.
Confidentiality
I will collect personal information about your health history and current health including diet, exercise, illnesses, family history, personal health issues and personal goals. This gives me a clear understanding of your current health status.
I cannot provide you with my service if you do not provide me with adequate information. I collect the information via the intake questionnaire, in face-to-face consultations, via email, phone and SMS. Your personal information will be stored securely and kept completely confidential. Your email will automatically be added to my Monthly Newsletter subscription list in Mailchimp (which you are able to easily unsubscribe from). It will not be shared with anyone else.
Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
Jervis Bay Naturopathy in located in NSW. This agreement is subject to the governing law of NSW
If you have any issue or complaint arising out of your use of the packages provided or of this client agreement, I agree to make a genuine effort to resolve the dispute through negotiation and discussion.
If we are unable to resolve a dispute by negotiation and discussion within 14 days, the parties must proceed to mediation with the assistance of an accredited mediator who is independent of the parties. The mediator is to be appointed by agreement of the parties or, failing agreement within twenty-one (21) days of the first notification of the dispute, by a person appointed by the Chair of Resolution Institute, (ACN 008 651 232, Level 2, 13-15 Bridge Street, Sydney NSW 2000; telephone: 02 9251 3366, email: infoaus@resolution.institute) or the Chair’s designated representative. The Resolution Institute Mediation Rules shall apply to the mediation. We agree to share the costs of mediation equally between us.
It is a condition precedent to the right of either party to commence litigation other than for interlocutory relief that it has first offered to submit the dispute to mediation. Litigation is to be considered a last resort and may not be commenced until, in the opinion of the independent mediator, the potential for negotiation and mediation have been exhausted.
